CONOR NEWMAN

When creating, whether for art or in practicing design, I always keep human interaction in mind. When forming a piece, I create with the goal of making art into a reflective experience. I want people to be able to come away from viewing my work with more questions than answers. I want people's emotions and thoughts to be in an uncomfortable state. I want to challenge the mind of others to go into deep reflection about the person they are and the person they are becoming. In terms of design, I practice with the goal of enhancing human interaction. Ultimately that’s how I see design - further enhancing the human experience with the world around us.

I challenge myself to be a deep thinker and will continue to do so. I want to continue to be able to help others go into deeper reflection through my creation and enhance human experience through design. I hope to achieve these goals simultaneously through my love for fashion and garment/footwear creation. One big goal and dream I have for myself is to eventually work at Nike as a designer. I want to help enhance an athlete’s performance just like Eric Avar, Leo Chang, and Tinker Hatfield did with the athletes they consulted. My other big goal and dream is to eventually have a lifestyle brand of my own. Where I can continue to challenge myself in enhancing human experience, but also become more expressive. I want to become a platform for advocacy and improvement in this community we call planet Earth.
